Amanda Coakley is an Associate Director at BB Partners, an award-winning strategy and communications advisory, and a Europe’s Futures Fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna.
She leads BB's new Media Unit, combining technology innovation with communications design for the AI era.
Her writing on European affairs has appeared in Foreign Policy, Prospect, and TIME, earning her the Piazza Grande Religion Journalism Award and an MHP International Affairs Reporting Award.
Since January 2025 she has been a columnist for World Politics Review, writing monthly analysis on geopolitical developments across central and eastern Europe.
She began her career in broadcast news at CNN International, the BBC, and later, Channel 4, where she worked on leading programmes including Amanpour, Channel 4 News, and The Andrew Marr Show. Amanda has reported extensively from across Europe and produced in-depth field coverage of the wars in Nagorno-Karabakh and Ukraine. Her work received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Breaking News Coverage in 2017.
A graduate of University College Dublin, where she was an Ad Astra Scholar, Amanda was named an Aspen UK Rising Leaders Fellow in 2024.
